Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has called on the delegation of Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs of Nepal. During the meeting, Speaker Mahara said that he would take initiative to amend the Civil Crimes (Code) Act, 2074 BS. A delegation led by FNCCI President Ravi Singh has requested Speaker Mahara for immediate amendment of Article 250 of the recently enacted Civil Crimes (Code) Act, 2074 BS, which would bring down the entire construction sector. The federation has also submitted the necessary points for amendment to Speaker Mahara.
The federation has stated that if the construction businessmen do not work, do not do quality work or do not complete the work on time, the deposit will be confiscated and 10 percent of the contract amount will be recovered through liquidity damage. Similarly, the federation has informed that the issue will be blacklisted for one to three years, the contract agreement will be terminated and the remaining work will be collected from the house of the construction businessman. According to the Prevention of Corruption Act, the provision of litigation by the official bodies is sufficient for the construction businessmen and no other provision is required.
According to FNCCI, the FNCCI delegation included Vice President Ratna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy General Secretary (Policy) Tanka Prasad Chaulagai, Central Member Mangal Bahadur Shahi, Office Chief Premsingh Air and Public Relations Officer Ram Chandra Giri.
