A delegation of the Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs of Nepal has briefed Secretary of the Public Procurement Monitoring Office Madhu Prasad Regmi about the problems of the construction business.
On Wednesday, a delegation led by FNCCI President Ravi Singh drew the attention of Secretary Regmi to the non-compliance of a circular issued by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office Although the entire office has been instructed to publish the bids as per the Standard Bidding Document (SBD), the federation has informed Secretary Regmi that the bids have been published ignoring the rules and benefits only to a limited number of entrepreneurs.FNCCI President Singh said that most of the entrepreneurs are deprived of participating in the construction work due to such trend. The federation has also requested Secretary Regmi to amend the bids as per the Public Procurement Regulations and the Standard Bidding Document (SBD) issued by the office and direct the concerned bodies to change the eligibility of bids in a simplified manner.
In response, Secretary Regmi expressed his commitment to help the Public Procurement Monitoring Office to solve the problems of construction businessmen. Secretary Regmi also said that he would call the officials of the concerned bodies for discussion and give necessary instructions. FNCCI Vice Presidents Aang Dorji Lama AD, Surendra Prasad Singh, General Secretary Roshan Dahal, Deputy General Secretary (Policy) Tank Prasad Chaulagain, Treasurer Hiran Kumar Shrestha, FNCCI Public Relations Officer Ram Chandra Giri and others were present at the meeting.
